TOLEDO, Ohio — A road is closed and a "possible sinkhole" is developing at the site of a sewer repair project in north Toledo.
Lagrange Street is closed between Yates and Page streets and is scheduled to reopen in one week. The closure is due to sewer repairs, a city of Toledo media release said.
A "possible sinkhole" is developing in the area Wednesday afternoon, according to a city of Toledo social media post. City crews are assessing the damage and the need for repairs. Residents should avoid the area. No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the sinkhole on Lagrange Street, and whether or not it is related to the sewer repairs, has not yet been disclosed.
This is the second sinkhole in recent months in north Toledo. In late November, a pipe fitting failed roughly two miles away at Galena and Chase streets, resulting in significant flooding to the area.
A detour during the repair project is via Sherman Street to Cherry Street and Manhattan Boulevard in both directions.
