Teen injured in south Toledo dirt bike collision

Mark Diebert, 13, was injured and hospitalized after colliding with a car on his dirt bike Thursday night.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A teenager was injured in a collision with a car in south Toledo Thursday night.

Mark Diebert, 13, was hospitalized with potentially life-threatening injuries, authorities at the scene Thursday told WTOL 11.

According to a Toledo police report, Mark Yancy, 65, was traveling westbound on South Avenue and made a left turn to travel southbound on the Anthony Wayne Trail.

Diebert was traveling on the dirt bike eastbound on South Avenue approaching the Anthony Wayne Trail. He continued through the intersection and collided with Yancy's vehicle, according to a police report.

The incident is under investigation, according to police.
