Two women dead after shooting in central Toledo

The coroner's report shows both women were shot in the head at least once.

TOLEDO, Ohio — At approximately 7 a.m. Sunday morning Toledo police responded to a call about a shooting in central Toledo on the 800 block of Vance St.

Police say when they arrived they found two women, 42-year-old Laura Luckey and 40-year-old Natasha Carlisle, both fatally shot.

Luckey was found in the driver's seat of her car parked in front of a home on Vance St. and Carlisle was found face down in the street about ten feet from the open passenger door of the same vehicle, according to the coroner's report.

Autopsies were preformed on both women and determined that Luckey was shot a total of eight times, including two shots to the head, and Carlisle was shot twice in the head.

The report says both women were pronounced dead at the scene at 7:10 a.m.

The deaths mark the city's 58th and 59th homicides this year.

Last year, there were 62 homicides in Toledo for the entire year.

The shooting remains under investigation.

Natasha's family says there will be a candlelight vigil at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 900 block of Woodland Ave.

Updates will be made when information becomes available.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story had incorrectly listed the second shooting victim as Tamika Carlisle as named in an earlier press release from Toledo Police.
