A gallon of gas costs, on average, $3.48 in Toledo as of Monday, according to a GasBuddy survey of 315 gas stations.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices in the Toledo area have fallen 15.5 cents over the last week, an analyst for GasBuddy says.

A gallon of gas costs, on average, $3.48 in Toledo as of Monday, according to a GasBuddy survey of 315 gas stations. The price is also now 13.8 cents higher than it was a month ago.

The GasBuddy survey found the cheapest station in Toledo was priced at $3.26/gallon, while the most expensive was $3.71/gallon. Statewide, the range was $2.89/gallon to $3.99/gallon from least expensive to most expensive.

Nationally, Toledo gas prices are below the rest of the country. In a survey of 150,000 gas stations across the U.S. the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.63, a figure that has increased almost nearly 8.5 cents from a month ago, according to GasBuddy.

The national average price of diesel dropped less than half a cent in the last week and stands at $4.01/gallon.

The average price of a gallon of gas in Toledo on April 29, 2024 is the second highest it has been on this date since 2020:

  • April 29, 2023: $3.59/g (U.S. Average: $3.58/g)
  • April 29, 2022: $3.86/g (U.S. Average: $4.16/g)
  • April 29, 2021: $2.71/g (U.S. Average: $2.89/g)
  • April 29, 2020: $1.40/g (U.S. Average: $1.75/g)

"With more confidence every day, it appears the spring top is in: average gas prices have started to cool off in many areas. For now, few Americans need to worry that gas prices are going to skyrocket; the risk appears to be behind us, with relief coming in the weeks ahead," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

"While the latter half of the summer could potentially see hurricane-related issues, I do sense we've hit the top for now, and Americans should be optimistic that this summer will be very similar to last year, in line with our early 2024 expectations and likely not featuring record gasoline prices. I'm quite excited the seasonal rise in gas prices appears to be over."
