Lourdes University outlines plans to resume classes for fall semester

Lourdes University plans to return to in-person classes with some changes to guidelines and the academic calendar.

SYLVANIA, Ohio — Lourdes University has announced its plans to resume in-person teaching for the fall.

The university will begin school on August 24, like normal.

But, it's eliminating fall break and making other tweaks to condense the schedule in case learning needs to move online after Thanksgiving.

Leaders at the school say when students come back, it will look similar to how it did in the past.

"If a classroom before held 30 students, now it might probably more likely hold probably 15. We will have them set up in chairs and spaced to safely accommodate face-to-face class but in an environment that's social distanced" said Greg Kneser, the Vice President and Dean of Students at Lourdes.

The university will be requiring students to wear masks inside. It's also looking at adding more sections for the larger classes.
