TOLEDO, Ohio — A person was found dead after a fire in east Toledo Monday morning.

Toledo Fire & Rescue responded to a mobile home fire at 1413 Miami St. around 9:11 a.m. TFRD said there was a report of a mobile home fire with black smoke, flames and a possible victim.

TFRD said they started applying water to the exterior of the home before advancing inside, but crews found a "heavy content load" and hoarder-like conditions inside. According to Toledo fire, that complicated the initial search.

After the fire was brought under control around 9:24 a.m., TFRD crews conducted a second search for a missing 70-year-old man and found a victim dead inside near the front of the mobile home.

Toledo fire said investigators ruled the cause of the fire accidental. According to TFRD, no audible smoke alarms were working at the time of the fire.
