TPD: Woman in motorized wheelchair struck by vehicle in Toledo

The pedestrian, who was identified by Toledo police as a woman in a motorized wheelchair, was crossing Bancroft Street when hit by a vehicle and seriously injured.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A pedestrian is hospitalized after a crash Monday evening on Bancroft Street.

The pedestrian, who was described by Toledo police as a woman in a motorized wheelchair, was crossing Bancroft Street when struck by a driver turning from Cherry Street and heading westbound.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash, police said.

A portion of Bancroft Street at the intersection of Cherry Street was closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
