ERIE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A 57-year-old Ohio man had to be flown to the hospital in Toledo after his motorcycle crashed on Saturday evening.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:49 p.m. on West Mason Road near Harris Road, south of Sandusky in Erie County.

OSHP says John Jehle III, of Wakeman in Huron County, was riding east on West Mason Road when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

Jehle was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and had to be flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Toledo with serious injuries.
