TOLEDO, Ohio — A two-car crash in West Toledo closed down West Alexis Road in both directions on Saturday evening around 6:45 p.m.
One of the involved cars ended up on its side, wedged against a sign at a strip mall on Alexis Road and Meteor Avenue.
A press release from Toledo police indicates that two teens were traveling in a vehicle eastbound on Alexis Road when a vehicle driven by a 75-year-old Sylvania man exited a private lot off of Meteor Avenue, crashing into the teen's vehicle as he attempted to turn onto Alexis Road.
Police state that the vehicle driven by the man had one passenger, a 78-year-old Sylvania woman.
According to police, all four occupants of the vehicles were transported to a local hospital following the crash.
Police on scene said those involved in the crash have non-life threatening injuries. A statement from police confirmed that passengers in both vehicles suffered broken bones.
Toledo Edison was on scene inspecting damage to electric wires that were hanging after the crash.
The circumstances that led up to the crash are unknown at this time.
