Free at-home COVID-19 rapid tests available for Seneca County businesses

The BinaxNOW rapid COVID-19 tests are being supplied to Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce partner businesses along with hand sanitizer and masks.

TIFFIN, Ohio — One year ago, facial masks, hand sanitizer and COVID-19 tests seemed impossible to find.

So much has changed for all of us.

Now, Seneca County is helping small business owners to make sure they're still supported when it comes to the pandemic.

The Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce is now offering free, at-home COVID-19 test kits for all of their partner businesses.

The kits were supplied through a partnership with the Seneca County Health Department and are available alongside free masks and sanitizer.

The BinaxNOW rapid tests are straightforward to use and can be done under the supervision of a medical expert via a telehealth call.

These local, small businesses will be able to get results within 15 minutes if an employee is showing early COVID symptoms.

The goal is to ensure the safety of local workers and to make sure that business owners can act quickly and remain open.

"Sometimes having an employee go off site to get tested, that's lost time on the job site. So, allowing them to have these tools in their hands to use is huge and crucial and allows them to continue staying open and operate efficiently," said Bryce Riggs, chamber executive director.

And Riggs says the Seneca chamber will work at being able to offer those free at-home tests kits, hand sanitizer and masks to their partner businesses as long as they are in stock.
