TPD: Teen jumps out of moving vehicle after car they were in was shot at

Toledo police said a 15-year-old jumped out of a moving vehicle after an unknown person began shooting at the car they were in Saturday afternoon.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a teen jumped from a moving vehicle in central Toledo after someone began shooting at the car they were in.

TPD said a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old were in a vehicle near West Delaware Avenue and Auburn Avenue around 2:15 p.m. when an unknown person began shooting at their car. According to police, the 17-year-old sped off and the 15-year-old jumped out of the moving vehicle after becoming scared.

The 15-year-old was injured and taken to the hospital. TPD said they recovered evidence at the scene and noted in a police report that they received a ShotSpotter alert.
