Anderson was also charged with improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

OREGON, Ohio — Toledo boxer Jared Anderson was arrested by Oregon Police and booked into the Lucas County Jail on Monday.

He is facing charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A police report from Oregon PD said that Anderson was pulled over for allegedly going 55 m.p.h. in a posted 40 m.p.h. zone.

The officer stated that he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and observed an open container of Don Julio alcohol in the car. Police also said that they could smell the odor of alcohol coming from Anderson.

During a search of the vehicle, police found the firearm in a locked glove box.

Anderson was released from jail after posting a $7,500 bond. In a hearing at Oregon Municipal Court on Tuesday, he pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is scheduled to be back in court on December 1.

"The Real Big Baby" as he goes by in the boxing ring is a rising heavyweight in the sport. He currently holds a 16-0 record with 15 knockouts.

Anderson held a fight in his hometown of Toledo this summer at the Huntington Center. His most recent fight was on August 26.
