Tiffin police arrest man for allegedly traveling from Tennessee to engage in sexual conduct with a minor

The 43-year-old man traveled from Nashville to Tiffin and allegedly said he would pay a minor to engage in sexual conduct with him at a hotel, according to police.

TIFFIN, Ohio — The Tiffin Police Department arrested a man who traveled from Tennessee to allegedly engage in sexual conduct with a minor female child on Thursday.

Police said they were contacted in early December by the minor's mother who was concerned her daughter was being paid by Shane Allyne, identified as a family acquaintance, to send him explicit photos.

Allyne, 43, is accused of paying the minor for providing nude images of herself and offering to pay additional money if the juvenile agreed to engage in sexual conduct with him, according to detectives. He also allegedly sent explicit photos and videos of himself to the minor.

On Thursday, the suspect traveled from Nashville to the Columbus area before traveling to Tiffin. According to police, Allyne "made it clear" that he would pay several hundred dollars and up to a thousand dollars to the minor if she met with him to engage in sexual conduct at a hotel.

Law enforcement tracked and trailed the suspect from the Nashville airport to the Columbus airport, and then to a local lodging establishment in Tiffin. Allyne checked into the hotel and was immediately arrested upon exiting the establishment, according to Tiffin police.

He was transported to the Seneca County Jail and has charges pending of compelling prostitution, attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, as well as other charges.

In a press release from Tiffin police, Chief David W. Pauly said:

"I would like to personally thank ALL the law enforcement agencies for providing their assistance in this investigation and subsequent operation.
