TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor's note: This story has been updated to include information on Shield's arraignment.

A man accused of killing a Toledo teenager in March and arrested in Indiana in mid-April on a murder warrant has been extradited back to Ohio and booked in the Lucas County Jail on a murder charge.

Robert Shields III, 18, of Toledo, was booked in jail Monday on the murder charge along with a felonious assault charge and a robbery charge.

Shields was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Tuesday, where a judge set his bond at $1 million and ordered him to stay away from the victim's family. Shields is scheduled to appear in court on May 1 pending an indictment.

Shields is accused of shooting 15-year-old Jaylah Perry, who Toledo police say was his girlfriend, in the head in a home on Park Street in north Toledo on March 17. The Lucas County Coroner's Office ruled her death a homicide.

Indiana State Police pulled Shields over for speeding on I-70 on the morning of April 13 near Knightstown, Ind., east of Indianapolis. When officers discovered there was a warrant out for his arrest, Shields was placed under arrest.
