Winter gear drive returns to East Toledo Family Center; how to donate

The first-come first-serve event will give free winter gear to families in need. They are also accepting donations.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The East Toledo Family Center is accepting gently-used and new winter gear for families in need ahead of their third annual drive Saturday. 

According to an announcement from the organization, they will continue to accept donations for winter gear until Thursday, Nov. 9. Acceptable donations include coats, boots, hats, gloves, scarves, blankets and snow pants. Donations of gear in sizes infant through adult and should be dropped off at the East Toledo Family Center on 1020 Varland Avenue.

The distribution event itself will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon at the family center. Gear will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
