Dino's owner confirms Maumee restaurant will not move

The Maumee staple was slated to move to another spot in the same plaza earlier this year.

MAUMEE, Ohio — Dino's Family Restaurant in Maumee will not move to another location in the same plaza after a deal with another restaurant fell through, according to the eatery's owner.

Earlier this year, Dino's owner Dean Yakhumithis told WTOL 11 the landlord of the building was planning sell the property the building occupies to another business. While rumors circulated that Dino's would close, Yakhumithis said in July he planned to move the restaurant 500 feet away to an unoccupied spot in the Golden Gate Shopping Center.

Following the sale, a Culver's was to be built in the spot formerly occupied by Dino's. According to Yakhumithis, the deal fell through. Dino's Restaurant will no longer be moving, he told WTOL 11 Friday.

Dino's opened in Maumee 26 years ago; it sits at the intersection of Gibbs Street and the Anthony Wayne Trail.
