TPD conducted the city-wide traffic enforcement blitz with a concentration on major roadways around the city and areas with a higher number of crashes and traffic complaints, the department said in an announcement Thursday.

In particular, enforcement efforts were focused on distracted driving and using cell phones while driving.

Officers made a total of 150 traffic stops during the blitz.

According to Toledo police, the traffic stops resulted in:

  • 101 distracted driving citations
  • 20 seat belt citations
  • 15 speeding citations
  • 15 instances of driving without a license
  • 4 suspended licenses
  • 4 misdemeanor arrests
  • 2 felony arrests

Portions of the enforcement campaign were funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration by a grant administered by the State of Ohio Department of Criminal Justice Services.
