(WTOL) - You probably microwave your food in plastic containers and put them in the dishwasher later, like most of us do.
But a study done by the American Academy of Pediatrics is showing that this might not be the best idea.
Pediatricians say there's growing evidence that microwaving these containers or putting them in the dishwasher leaks dangerous chemicals.
Experts say we should be using glass or stainless steel containers instead.
Doctors also warn against food additives, food coloring and certain packaging in the report.
