TPD: Police chase ends in crash in west Toledo early Thursday, teen hospitalized

A TPD sergeant on scene told WTOL one teenager went to the hospital with non-serious injuries.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A juvenile was hospitalized following a pursuit with Toledo police early Thursday.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. on Secor Road near McGregor Lane in west Toledo. Police said they were chasing the stolen vehicle when the driver suddenly lost control and hit a pole.

A TPD sergeant at the scene told WTOL a 14-year old and 16-year-old were inside the car. According to a police report, the driver, the 16-year-old, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries, then taken into custody. The 14-year-old passenger was uninjured and was released to a parent on scene. 

No officer injuries were reported.
