Water boil advisory sent to many Toledo residents was a mistake says city

TOLEDO, Ohio — The City of Toledo Dept. of Public Utilities has issued a boil advisory for a downtown restaurant on Saturday.

The water boil advisory was issued for Ice Restaurant at 405 Madison downtown just after 4 p.m. It is scheduled to expire on January 24, at 5 p.m.

At the same time, the city of Toledo says people in west Toledo and other parts of the city who got a text message about a boil advisory in their area on Saturday evening were sent the message by mistake.

There is no boil advisory in the area of Sylvania Ave., Douglas Rd., and Secor Rd. as of Saturday evening.

According to the city, there are only three active boil advisories at this time:

  • St. Clair St. from Madison Ave to Jefferson Ave (Ice Restaurant)

  • WARDELL ST. FROM MILROY AVE. TO ELSMERE AVE. ELSMERE AVE. FROM FLORANCE AVE. TO ATKINS ST. ATKINS ST. FROM ELSMERE AVE. TO MILROY AVE.
    35 customers affected
  • Florita Rd. From 5409 Florita Rd. to 5446 Florita Rd. to Include 1747 Longwood Dr. Also Del Monte Dr. from Florita Rd. to Vista Dr. to Include 5412 Vista Dr.
