TOLEDO, Ohio — The city is renewing conversation regarding a redesign of Secor Road in west Toledo.
Residents are invited to an open house community meeting on May 9, hosted by the Toledo Department of Transportation, to gather input on a redesign of Secor Road between Central Avenue and Kenwood Boulevard.
It is a topic that has been discussed many times in the past with the busy street, which is notorious for its narrow lanes and congestion near Westgate at the corner of Secor Road and Central Avenue.
In 2017, proposals were met with criticism due to many factors including requiring some Old Orchard residents to sell their property if they are declared to be in the right-of-way.
The city did not specify what plans, if any, are being discussed for the latest redesign and Secor Road is not on the city's list of road projects scheduled for 2024.
The open house community meeting will also include the area's Toledo City Council representative, Sam Melden.
The meeting is scheduled for May 9 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Sanger Branch Library, located at 3030 Central Ave. in west Toledo.
