Brother accidentally shoots sister in back in east Toledo, TPD says

Toledo police at the scene told WTOL the woman's brother accidentally shot his sister in her lower back.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A person was injured in an early morning shooting Monday.

Officers responded just before 2:30 a.m. to a call about a person shot at a home on Nevada Street near Spring Grove Avenue in east Toledo. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Toledo police at the scene told WTOL crews the woman's brother, 22, accidentally shot his sister in her lower back. 

The 19-year-old was taken to the hospital in stable condition. No charges have been filed yet. 

Police continue to investigate the events that led up to the incident.
