Giant pumpkin winner weighs in at record-setting 2,388.5 pounds at Ohio pumpkin show

The pumpkin, grown by Jo and Bob Liggett, weighed in at 2,388.5 pounds on Wednesday during the 2023 Circleville Pumpkin Show.

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — There's a new pumpkin champion in Circleville!

Grown by Jo and Bob Liggett, the pumpkin weighed in at 2,388.5 pounds on Wednesday during the 2023 Circleville Pumpkin Show, which is the largest in state history. The previous record was set back in 2014 (1,964 pounds). That pumpkin was also grown by Bob.

It's significantly heavier than last year's winner, which weighed in at 1,837.5 pounds. 

The "Greatest Free Show on Earth" kicked off on Wednesday. About 100,000 people are expected to fill East Main Street and the surrounding roads.
