Two teens shot in central Toledo Friday night; building at same location shot 5 hours later

It is unknown if police are investigating the shootings as related.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Two teens were shot in central Toledo Friday night, hours before additional shots were fired at the same location, striking the building where an after hours club was hosted, police said.

According to two Toledo police reports, officers responded to an address in the 1900 block of Monroe Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday regarding a shooting. Officers arrived at the scene and found evidence of a shooting.

While on scene, police were informed that two teens, a 16 and 17-year-old, arrived at a hospital separately, each with at least one gunshot wound. According to police, the victims' injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

At approximately 4 a.m. Saturday, fewer than five hours after the initial call, police responded to the same location regarding another shots fired call. Police located several shell casings in front of the door to the building at the address, where authorities said an after hours club was operating. The door to the building had been struck by gunfire twice, police said.

At the time of the shooting, 20 to 30 adults were inside, according to the police report. There were no injuries as a result of the second shooting at the location.

No suspects were named in either incident, but both remain under investigation.
