The chase began in Monroe Township shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday and ended in a crash and foot pursuit. Three teenagers from Saginaw face numerous charges.

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. — Three juveniles face numerous charges following a car chase Sunday in Monroe County.

Monroe County dispatch received a call from security at a car dealership on South Dixie Highway just before 1:30 a.m., reporting that two people were seen looking into vehicles in the lot.

Deputies arrived on scene and a white Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT was spotted leaving southbound on S. Dixie Highway. Two deputies initiated a pursuit when the vehicle failed to pull over, according to a press release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies lost sight of the vehicle in Ida Township. Michigan state troopers and an officer from the Dundee Police Department responded to the area to assist in the search.

The vehicle was spotted heading northbound on US-23 exiting at M-50/Tecumseh Street. Authorities were unable to catch the vehicle before it crashed while turning on the exit ramp. The occupants fled from the crash on foot.

Authorities established a perimeter in the area and a Michigan State Police K-9 arrived at the scene and MCSO utilized a drone in the search. Using the drone, three subjects were located in the area of Sherloch Forest Apartments in the 320 block of Rawson Street in Dundee.

Deputies and troopers flooded the area of the apartment complex and approached the suspects, who again fled on foot. Authorities pursued the suspects and with the help of the drone were able to arrest the three suspects.

The vehicle used by the suspects was recently stolen from Port Huron. The suspects, described by MCSO as a 16-year-old male and two 17-year-old males from Saginaw, were booked into the Monroe County Youth Center on numerous charges.

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Office at 734-240-7738.
