Victim in Feb. 24 north Toledo shooting dies, coroner rules death a homicide

Travis Williams, 32, was shot and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries last month.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A death resulting from a north Toledo shooting in February has been ruled a homicide, the Lucas County Coroner's Office said in a press release Monday. 

Travis Williams, 32, was shot on Feb. 24 just before 10:30 a.m. in the 800 block of North Huron Street between Walnut Street and Locust Street. Police found Williams unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the neck and jaw area. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to the coroner's office, Williams died on Feb. 29. His cause of death was found to be anoxic encephalopathy due to a gunshot wound to the neck. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. 

Police have not named any suspects in the case.
