One suspect in custody following armed vehicle robbery in west Toledo Target parking lot

Two armed suspects are accused of robbing an employee of his vehicle in the Target parking lot.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police are investigating an armed vehicle theft in a west Toledo parking lot Wednesday morning, an incident that led to one arrest while a second suspect remains outside of police custody. 

According to a Toledo police report, crews responded to the Target on West Alexis Road at approximately 8:10 a.m. regarding a robbery. Upon arrival, an employee told police he was walking into the parking lot to retrieve his cell phone from his vehicle when two suspects exited a red Jeep and stole his vehicle, a black Dodge Challenger. Both suspects were armed, the victim said to police. 

Police crews located the suspected stolen vehicle on Bennet Road and followed it to the 100 block of Capistrano Avenue, where the vehicle stopped. Two suspects exited the vehicle and fled, police claimed. Crews arrested one suspect, Marco Sailes, in the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of California Boulevard.

The second suspect was not apprehended, according to the report. There were no injuries.
