City shuts down Cousino's restaurants at The Docks

"It's a disappointment, but my intention is to continue marketing The Docks as an attractive and vibrant riverfront property to potential investors interested in Toledo," said Mayor Bell.

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – City officials say several restaurants at the Docks in Toledo owned by the Cousino family are closed for business as of Friday.

In a verbal agreement with the city leaders, The Navy Bistro, The Courtyard at the Navy Bistro and Tango's Latin Infused Grill were secured by the city after they closed Thursday.
Front Street Ventures entered into a payment plan under the belief that business would turn around back in 2009, but leaders say the group has been in arrears to the city for quite some time.
Toledo Mayor Mike Bell says the decision to close all facilities was made earlier this week.
"It's a disappointment, but my intention is to continue marketing The Docks as an attractive and vibrant riverfront property to potential investors interested in Toledo," said Bell.

City leaders say the closure only affects the Cousino family's restaurants at the Docks. Zia's, Real Seafood and Metropolis are still open for business.

The Navy Bistro has been open since the Fall of 1996, while Tango's has been open since May of 2000.
