Nebraska Avenue closed while authorities investigate potential HAZMAT situation

There is no active threat to public health and safety, the city of Toledo said.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Authorities are assessing the Omni Polymers facility in central Toledo after an inspection yielded concerns, according to a press release from the city of Toledo.

According to the press release, an inspection Monday revealed what the prevention bureau described as concerns with proper chemical storage, as well as a non-operational fire suppression system.

Nebraska Avenue has been closed to both pedestrians and traffic between Brown and Woodstock while the City of Toledo Fire Prevention Bureau and the US EPA investigate.
