Michigan cracks down on sex offenders

The state of Michigan will be strengthening the law against sex offenders.

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The state of Michigan will be strengthening the law against sex offenders.

Governor Rick Snyder signed a new law today which requires health care workers convicted of sex crimes to lose their licenses.

The law requires those convicted of first, second or third degree criminal sexual conduct to lose their licenses for life.

Those who have been convicted of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct can apply for re-instatement after 5 years.
