Motorcyclist injured in Erie County accident

A motorcyclist had to be flown to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with life-threatening injuries after an accident in Erie County on Saturday.

ERIE COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) - A motorcyclist had to be flown to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo with life-threatening injuries after an accident in Erie County on Saturday.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Chad Scott Rhoades, age 42, was westbound on Smokey Road near State Route 61 around 5 PM when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.

Mr. Rhoades was ejected from the motorcycle.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
