Feed Lucas County Children summer camp kicks off

Feed Lucas County Children (FLCC) is working their summer camp to help children in need by providing healthy meals, a safe haven, sports, educational programs and a community garden.

TOLEDO, OHIO - When the school year ends, so do school lunch programs, leaving over 25,000 children without enough food to eat.

Feed Lucas County Children (FLCC) is working their summer camp to help children in need by providing healthy meals, a safe haven, sports, educational programs and a community garden.

"This year, we're happy to sponsor over 80 sites, including The Knight Academy, Tony Siebeneck, Executive Director of FLCC."

The kick off event is at The Knight Academy. It takes place Wednesday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The school is located at 110 Arco Dr. in Toledo.

The actual summer camp is slated to run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 11 to Aug. 16 at Knights Academy and Aurora Gonzalez Center.

The Lucas County Children's Camp, a free summer program sponsored by FLCC and hosted by The Knight Academy, is open to all children and runs Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The program ends on August 9, 2012.
