COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A judge has denied a request for a new trial for a former Republican fundraiser convicted of stealing from an Ohio investment fund.

Former Lucas County Judge Charles Wittenberg ruled this week that no evidence supported Tom Noe's jury misconduct claim. Noe's request included a statement in which the jury foreman from his 2006 trial says some jurors went along with convictions because they "just wanted to get it over with."

Noe was convicted of theft and other crimes in a scandal at the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation. Prosecutors say he stole $13.7 million from a bureau fund he managed that was invested it in coins and other items.

In a separate case, he also was convicted of making illegal contributions to President Bush's re-election campaign.
