TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - A car accident near McCord and Hill was responsible for a large power outage in parts of west and south Toledo on Saturday evening.
Toledo Edison says the accident left between 500 and 1500 people without power around 7:45 p.m.
An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper says it was a single vehicle accident.
According to the trooper, the car was traveling north on McCord when it veered off to the right side of the road and stuck a pole.
The driver was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
Power had to be shut off in the area so Toledo Edison could work on securing the pole.
