FOSTORIA, OH (Toledo News Now) - Two Fostoria businesses are donating their services to raise money for the family of the 20-year-old girl who was killed in a break in.

Friday May 30 residents of all ages will have the chance to patronize local businesses and financially help the family of Janelle Mauricio. The two Fostoria Main Street businesses hosting the benefit are Laura's All American Café and Grooveline.

Starting at 6pm, children up to 18-years-old can get into Laura's for only $1 and enjoy raffles, McDonald's giveaways, and a chance to win Mud Hens tickets.

Just up the street at Grooveline, for $5, adults can take part in a 50/50 raffle and an all-you-can-eat nacho and taco bar. The funds raised are to offset the funeral cost for Mauricio. On top of the money, family members also hope to raise awareness.

"Just trying to help prevent anything like this from happening. Nobody knows the real cause behind what happened. So, there's not really a way we can help prevent it. But just so people know that you just have to be careful," said Sierra Garcia, Mauricio's cousin

All extra money raised over the goal of $3,000 will be put into a scholarship fund in Mauricio's name.
