One dead, two injured in Monroe Co. shooting incident

The man who was killed is a 32-year-old man from Romulus, MI.

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) - One man is dead and two others are being treated for non-life threatening injuries after a shooting in Monroe, County on Sunday morning.

The man who was killed is a 32-year-old man from Romulus, MI.

The shooting happened around 3:30 AM at a home on Rawsonville Rd.

The Sheriff's Offices says the man was involved in a physical altercation with a 35-year-old man from Taylor, MI.

Several witnesses attempted to break up the fight but the situation escalated.

The homeowner, a 39-year-old man retrieved a gun from inside his home and fired 3 warning shots into the ground which caused the group to separate.

The Romulus man then retrieved his gun from his vehicle and shot at the Taylor man. The man from Taylor was struck in the upper chest.

The homeowner then shot the Romulus man one time in the upper chest.

In the process, a 38-year-old woman from Brownstown Twp. was shot in the hand.

The man from Taylor and the woman from Brownstown Twp. were treated at the hospital.

The name of the deceased Romulus man is being withheld until family is notified.
