TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A man accused of killing a Toledo gym owner in a robbery gone bad has pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Deitrekk Boone walked in and out of the courtroom without displaying much - if any - emotion. He entered the plea and was arraigned in Lucas County Common Pleas Court Thursday morning. A judge set his bond at $1 million.
Boone faces several charges, including aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. His trial is set to begin in April.
Boone is one of five men accused of robbing and killing local gym owner Joe Lengel back in November 2012. Police say Boone went on the run for more than a year before U.S. Marshals caught up with him in Houston, TX in December.
