Piglets expected this week at Hancock Co. Fair

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - Wednesday was the first of several busy days at the Hancock County Fair as the local farming community shows off their hard work.

The fair is a place where farm life meets city life. It's one of the few times of the year when farmers get a chance to show city folk what they do and where their food comes from.

One exhibit drawing big crowds this year is the pregnant pigs. Some spectators may get the chance to witness a live birth. Two litters of piglets are expected to be born this week, and TV screens in the Legacy Pavilion will allow people to witness it.

Dan Horner, who brings the residents of Fox Run Manor to the fair every year, says this is something people who live in the city shouldn't miss.

"I don't get to see it every day, but this is nice," Horner said. "I think young people, especially, should be out here watching this."

An average litter of piglets is about 12.
