Hollywood Casino Toledo to pay $30,000 fine for violations

For the first time, Hollywood Casino Toledo is in trouble with the Ohio Casino Control Commission. It's been ordered to pay the state $30,000 in fines after four procedure violations this year.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - For the first time, Hollywood Casino Toledo is in trouble with the Ohio Casino Control Commission.

Hollywood Casino Toledo has been ordered by the OCCC to pay the state $30,000 in fines after four procedure violations, which occurred earlier this year.

According to the commission, back in March, the casino opened a blackjack table for live play without having the proper video surveillance of that table. It also failed to monitor the initial table fill totaling more than $36,000. Additionally, on three separate occasions, the casino placed slot machines into active play without verification and seal by the commission.

A spokesperson for the commission says while the casino gaming license is not in jeopardy, these are violations which the commission takes very seriously.

"This ensures the gaming operations at every casino in Ohio are very closely monitored by the commission, it involves our gaming enforcement agents and our auditors that work around the clock at the casino properties," said Tama Davis.

While the casino has not commented, a letter from the casino general manager to the commission says additional procedures have been implemented and maintaining regulatory compliance is of utmost importance.
