Find your new friend at Lucas Co Dog Warden event

As temperatures rise, so do the number of animals the Lucas County Dog Warden picks up.

LUCAS COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) - As temperatures rise, sodo the number of animals the Lucas County Dog Warden picks up.

Now they're working tofind those animals permanent homes.

The dog warden is teamingup with other local rescue groups and having a huge adoption event thisweekend. More than 200 cats and dogs are up for adoption, and this weekend theywill all be in one place.

The event will be held atthe Lucas County Recreation Center, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3p.m. There will be specials and reduced costs.

"Coming into the summerseason, dogs continually come in," said Laura Simmons, operations manager atthe Lucas County Dog Warden. "We're picking up so many dogs, we're actuallypicking up more dogs than we're adopting out."
