OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) - A new shopping center is almost ready to open in Oregon.
It's located on Navarre Avenue, just west of Coy Road. The main attraction is a Dollar Tree, and the developer is hoping to open up in the next few weeks.
"We have a Dollar Tree taking up 10,00 square feet," said Justin Lorenzen of Lorenzen Realty. "At the moment, I have another national tenant submitting a letter of intent for another 4,500 square feet, and we have a local restaurant owner looking at space, as well."
Lorenzen has been working on the project since December. The 30,000-square-foot building will be home to five new businesses.
Workers are waiting on the weather to pave the parking lot and set up light posts, before the Dollar Tree opens.
At the Future Wave Salon, they've been washing and drying hair for 18 years. The manager there says they're excited to get a new shopping center in their backyard.
"Anything that's going to bring more foot traffic on this side is going to be great," Terrin Medere said. "We've been doing just fine, but we need some new business in this area."
Lorenzen says this is a good look for the city, and hopefully the shopping center will spark an interest for more new developments.
