Rebecca Steinmiller enters not guilty plea

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - Rebecca Steinmiller, whose 5 month old son, Carter, died in April, faced a judge Thursday. The Wood County Prosecutor's Office says Steinmiller neglected her child in the days before he died.

Steinmiller entered a plea of not guilty to a charge of endangering children, but the prosecutor's office says that just one part of a bigger investigation.

Steinmiller's 5 month old son, Carter died about a month ago after being rushed to the hospital. She was arrested after an examination showed her son had a broken arm, which the prosecutor's office says she neglected to report for several days.

Steinmiller is currently being held on a $75,000 dollar bond. She is also not allowed to have contact with her child's father, Brian Steinmiller.

Steinmiller has not been charged with anything directly related to her child's death. The prosecutor's office says that is still under investigation. She is due back in court for a pretrial hearing in July.
