TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Catherine Davis says she is lucky to be alive after finding a man with a gun waiting in her car to rob her.

Davis was leaving work in the 700 block of South Avenue Wednesday night to drive home when she saw the suspect rise up from the third-row seat and point a gun at her.

The suspect demanded money, Davis says, and when she told him she only had a few dollars, he told her to drive to the ATM across the street. "He was like, 'You got an ATM card? I will shoot you.'"

Things went from bad to worse at the ATM machine, she says. "The machine ate my card, and that's when he made me pull off. I didn't know what was going to happen to me after that. I thought I was going to die or be raped. I didn't know what was going to happen. I had no clue."

The suspect promised she wouldn't get hurt if she complied, so Davis drove until he told her to stop at Dorr and Wells. He got out and told her not to call police.

Even though she was able to get away, Davis says she still feels the fear. "Is he still out there? Is he watching me?" she asks.

Investigators say the gunman robbed a nearby Subway restaurant the night before. He pointed a gun at employees and went for the register, according to police.

The only description available is that the suspect was wearing a dark hoodie and a red bandana. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStopper at (419) 255-1111.
