OREGON, Ohio (WTOL) - A second confirmed case of the H1N1 virus at Fassett Middle School has parents in the Oregon school district on edge.

The district sent students home with a letter Monday, September 28 saying an eighth grader has H1N1.

It was just last Friday when the district confirmed a sixth grader at Fassett also had the virus.

The district does not believe this is a cluster outbreak, but some parents are worried.

"My 5 and 6 year old ride the same bus as the students that go to Fassett. If someone is sick on the bus, and they say its harder on the younger kids, and a lot of us are worried about our younger kids," said parent Arnold Summers.

In Monday's letter, the district told parents they would no longer be notifying them if other students get sick from the virus but will contact the health department.

Vaccines

The Lucas County Health Department expects to get the first doses of the H1N1 vaccine by the end of the week. By Thursday or Friday, 3,000 doses should arrive. All of that first batch of vaccines will go to healthcare workers, people in hospitals, health care facilities, and EMTs.
