MIAMI (WOIO) - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth has been charged with DUI manslaughter. A Thursday morning court hearing has been scheduled.
The hearing, set to take place in a Miami-Dade Courtroom. Stallworth is accused of fatally striking a pedestrian with his Bentley in Miami last month.
59-year-old Mario Reyes was killed in the accident. Reyes worked in the area and was headed to a nearby bus stop when he was struck down.
Late Wednesday, the family of Mario Reyes released the following statement:
The Miami Herald and Miami TV stations have reported that Stallworth's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
The police report states that Reyes was not in the crosswalk but also states that careless driving contributed to the deadly accident.
