I-280 SB reopens after multi-vehicle crash near Northwood early Friday

WTOL 11 was told by Wood County dispatchers there are multiple vehicles invloved in the crash.

NORTHWOOD, Ohio — UPDATE: The closed portion of I-280 has since reopened. 

Several emergency crews asissted a multi-vehicle crash on I-280 near Northwood that is impacted drivers early Friday.

The Lake Township Fire Department responded at 3:47 a.m. to a call about a multi-vehicle crash involving one semi on fire on I-280 just south of Woodville Road.

Only one southbound lane is open on I-280 near Walbridge Road due to a semi truck erupting into flames. The northbound lanes opened to traffic at 5:15 a.m.

Three people were taken to the hospital, one of whom had serious injuries, according to a Facebook post made by LTFD.

There are no updates on conditions at this time.

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
