TOLEDO, Ohio — Wednesday is a First Alert Day, and we have been talking about it for a few days now. Download the First Alert Weather app now and read on for three things you need to know:

1. RAIN IS THE BIGGEST IMPACT

Heavy rain will be the biggest impact on a soaking Wednesday. Though rain is expected on Tuesday, most of the rain will fall on Wednesday.

Potentially 2-4" of rain is possible by Thursday morning. There will be a pivot point in this storm system and that will determine where the heaviest of rain will be.

Even if the pivot point does not bring you the bulk of the rain, everyone can still plan on a couple of inches of water in the rain gauge.

2. LOCALIZED FLOODING IS EXPECTED

Impacts will be from the large amount of rain. Areas that are prone to water sitting around will be vulnerable to this storm.  Localized flooding is expected.

If you know a large amount of water could seep into your basement, spend time today priming your sump pump, moving items, and preparing for soggy grounds.  Also, clear out any drains nearby to help the water to flow out and minimize backups.

When driving at night, be aware of low-lying areas. Flooded roadways are difficult to see at night, so take it slow when driving in the dark.

3. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP

Wednesday is not just a First Alert Day, but also the beginning of autumn.  A chilly breeze will accompany the rain.

Temperatures will fall early Wednesday morning to hold high temperatures in the upper 50s. A cool and damp day will mark the halfway point of the week.

Those are 3 Things to Know about Wednesday's First Alert Day.  The First Alert Weather team will be updating the First Alert Weather app as the storm approaches, when the rain is falling and once we are in the clear.
