TOLEDO, Ohio —
1) Warm Weather Is Likely Before Storms
This will likely be one of the warmest days of the year so far with highs into the lower 70s possible by the afternoon. Combined with the moisture from the morning rain, this will feel like a May afternoon, not early April.
2) Storm Timing: 8 p.m.-2 a.m.
Evening thunderstorms are likely to develop across southern Michigan and drop into northwest Ohio after sunset. This line of storms will likely move through quickly with storms ending in northwest Ohio by 2 or 3 a.m.
3) Biggest Threats and How To Prepare
The atmosphere is set up to create storms that produce hail larger than 1" and gusty winds. Hail is not typically a big threat with storms in our area but there is an unusually large amount of chilly air higher up in the atmosphere. This allows storms to be a bit stronger following a warm afternoon and allows for quicker ice creation with hail.
