OSHP: 16-year-old killed in crash on SR-163 in Ottawa County; all lanes closed from Brooklyn St. to SR-590

Skylar Roberts, 16, of Bradner, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene of the three-vehicle crash near Oak Harbor Tuesday afternoon.

OAK HARBOR, Ohio — One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Ottawa County Tuesday afternoon.

Skylar Roberts, 16, of Bradner, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash just after noon on SR-163 at Toussaint-Portage Road in Salem Township near Oak Harbor, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Roberts was driving northbound on Toussaint-Portage Road when she failed to yield for a stop sign and was struck by a commercial truck driving eastbound on SR-163. Both vehicles went off the road, striking another vehicle traveling westbound on SR-163, OSHP said.

The two other drivers sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.

Roberts was a junior at Eastwood High School in Pemberville. In a message to community members, Superintendent Brent Welker provided resources for those grieving the tragic loss.

According to Roberts' obituary, donations will be taken to support the Skylar Robert’s Memorial Scholarship Fund for the class of 2024.
