OHIO, USA — If you've spent any time on Ohio highways, you've probably seen safety message boards with statistics or memorable wordplay encouraging drives to operate their vehicles safely.

Ahead of November and December, when many drivers will travel distances to visit family, the Ohio Department of Transportation is asking you to submit your best holiday-themed safety messages encouraging other drivers to keep roadways safe when traffic is hectic and roadways are icy.

Keep in mind the message must be succinct; a highway message may not be longer than 51 character, which is 17 characters for each of the three lines.

The message must also be traffic-safety related, as well as appropriate. Submissions focusing on one of Ohio's "emphasis areas," which include serious crash types, high risk drivers and behaviors and special vehicles and roadway users, will receive bonus points.

If you think you have a clever message that will encourage drivers to operate vehicles safely, you can submit it here.
